In the face of the crime, old animosities, deeply hidden fears and secrets that should never see the light of day are awakened. Will the inexperienced militiaman be able to shoulder the burden of tracking down the murderer? How much truth is there in the legend, repeated by the elderly inhabitants, that the village has been haunted by Mara, the demon of frost and death, who once took a bloody toll? Forty years after those events, police officers from the X Archive summon the retired Jan Rysio for questioning about the 1978 crime, thus awakening dormant demons. Michal Smielak once again builds the sultry atmosphere of a small community, showing that evil never sleeps....
